Alumnus
An alumnus (plural alumni) is a graduate of an institution.
Alumni are those students, collectively, who have undertaken a programme of study at an institution (of higher education). It is a moot point whether an unsuccessful student is an alumnus.
Alumnus/alumni: A person/persons who attended or graduated from a particular school.
and the institution from which one has graduated is
Alma mater: The school from which one has graduated
Graduate Recruitment Bureau (2012) defines:
Alumnus: A graduate of a particular university (plural = alumni).
Charles Sturt University (2011) defines the plural as an organisation:
Alumni: an association for students who have graduated.
