Reciprocity
Reciprocity is the acceptance by one agency of the outcomes of a quality process conducted by another agency.
Reciprocity is similar to mutual recognition but is limited to activities of quality agencies.
According to CHEA (2002) reciprocity is:
A system in which accrediting bodies acknowledge each other’s accreditation or certification decisions, even though the criteria may not be identical. Recognition is based on the assumption of equivalence of standards and quality.
