Art education
Art education includes a range of activities including the education of professional and amateur painters and sculptures, industrial designers, and the education of children.
Up to the twentieth century, art education has tended to define a ‘true’ or ‘great’ style, which all students should attempt to emulate. The twentieth century rejected this academic position. Similarly, reductionism has tended to be abandoned in favour of holistic approaches. Precise and idealised depiction is of less concern than intuitive and expressive representation.
