Belief
Belief is the acceptance of a proposition as true irrespective of the adequacy or even existence of evidence.
Asserting a belief is the act of making a statement about something that is unproblematic to the propounder although no evidence may be offered in support of it and what evidence is offered is based, tautologically, on the acceptance of the belief.
