Process standards
Process standards specify the provision that enables students to learn appropriately so that they may meet expected performance standards or or assessment requirements.
Process standards are in effect a subset of organisational standards.
Process or opportunity-to-learn standards define availability of staff and other resources necessary for the medical school so that students will be able to meet content and performance standards.
Process Standards: Statements that describe skills students should develop to enhance the process of learning. Process standards are not specific to a particular discipline, but are generic skills that are applicable to any discipline (e.g., students will find and evaluate relevant information). Contrast with Content Standards and Value Standards.
Opportunity-to-learn standards state the conditions and resources necessary to give all students
an equal chance to meet performance standards.
