Definition of Employability
The ESECT team, after much discussion, agreed the following definition of 'Employability':
Employability is a set of achievements, skills, understandings and personal attributes that make graduates more likely to gain employment and be successful in their chosen occupation.
Early formulations appended "(whether paid work or not)" to indicate that employability was about life choices not just paid employment.
The ESECT definition has often been cited and has been widely adopted in the discussions on employability within the Bologna Process.
